Clay County Historical Society Commission members, Evelyn Schlenker and Patrick J. Morrison, honored the Vermillion Rotary Club by having our November 8, meeting serve as the venue to present several awards for historic preservation achievement in Clay County. Congratulations to the individual preservation project award recipients, Monica Lund Iverson and James Waters for their renovation to the property at 15 West Main Street in Vermillion and also to Mart Brothers Construction for their renovation of the property at 3 Prospect St. Marty and Teresa Gilbertson were also recognized for their preservation efforts on several structures, including houses in the University Historic District. Finally, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church was recognized with a lifetime achievement award.
